Initial Management

•Bleeding:

–Resuscitation follow up GI bleeding

–Endoscopy therapies: Banding and clipping techniques or injection with adrenaline (epinephrine) and thermocoagulation.

–If the bleeding cannot be stopped, angiography with vasopressin injection or embolisation

–Surgery: Rarely, close the tear

•Δ ≠: esophageal rupture or other causes of UGIB

•Stable patients: light diet after endoscopy 4-6 hours
