Management

• Multiple biopsies (2 or more per section) from rectum, sigmoid colon, descending colon, transverse colon, cecum, and ileum.

• Granulomas were identified in 61% of fully investigated pediatric patients at diagnosis, and 42% of these granulomas were found only in the terminal ileum and upper gastrointestinal tract, a finding that emphasizes the need to biopsy these sites.
